Head Of A Broken Spear BG3 Location And Quest Guide

In Baldur's Gate 3, hidden secrets and scattered crafting components often lead to powerful early-game equipment. Finding the Head of a Broken Spear allows players to construct a unique weapon that turns the tide against multi-eyed foes in Act 1. Understanding where to search and how to combine the necessary pieces ensures your party gains a tactical edge early in the journey.

Locating the Head of a Broken Spear in Act 1

To acquire the Head of a Broken Spear, players must venture into the Owlbear Nest located west of the Emerald Grove. Inside the cave, you will encounter a mother Owlbear protecting her cub. Defeating the mother Owlbear allows you to loot her body and claim the spearhead.

Alternatively, if you choose not to battle the beast directly, returning later after other events transpire may allow you to scavenge the item from her corpse. Be sure to thoroughly inspect the cave ledges and surrounding terrain to avoid missing the loot.

Finding the Matching Shaft of a Broken Spear

A spearhead alone cannot function without its missing handle. To complete the pair, head toward the forest area right outside the Druid Grove to locate a dying True Soul named Edowin. Interacting with Edowin and his companions will grant access to his belongings, where you can loot the Shaft of a Broken Spear.

Taking both pieces into your inventory is essential for the restoration process. Make sure not to accidentally sell either part to local merchants before assembling them.

Combining the Spear Parts into Vision of the Absolute

Once both components are secured, open your inventory screen and right-click on either the head or the shaft. Select the combine option from the context menu to bring up the crafting interface. Drag the remaining part into the empty slot and confirm to forge the Vision of the Absolute.

This restored spear grants special passive effects, dealing extra damage to creatures with multiple eyes like spiders and Spectators. It serves as a formidable weapon during the dangerous encounters tucked away in Act 1.
